Description

King Racing Technology has partnered with Rebel Offroad to bring you the Recon Edition Coil Over. The spring rate and valving are completely customized for your modified Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator to ensure the optimal ride. Bumpers, winches, larger wheels and tires all affect how your Jeep rides. We've taken all this into account and King got right to work. Now you can order a ready to run coil over designed with high performance off road capability and a street smart/daily driver safe coil over set up.

Designed specifically for our Recon Coilover kit, these shocks are a direct bolt in to our Recon Bracket and hardware kit we've included. (Must have Our Recon Coilover Bracket installed to use this shock)

FEATURES & BENEFITS:

  • Lightweight hard anodized 6063 aluminum alloy reservoirs dissipate heat quickly and will not rust due to gas charging contamination.
Our own truncated thread design produces ultimate strength and trouble free spring adjustments.
  • Shock bodies are bored and honed after cadmium plating to ensure cylindricity and an efficient piston seal that enhances valve function.
Pinch bolt design offers superior clamping force to retain your coil preload adjustments without crushing the threads like set screw style collars do.
  • King coil springs are manufactured to our specifications in the USA using the finest quality, high tensile, chrome silicon wire available.
Spring rates, wire diameters and coil lengths have been developed through extensive real world testing on all types of terrain.
  • Composite coil sliders maintain proper spring alignment and silent operation.
  • Progressive dual rate spring applications use lockable secondary nuts threaded onto the body to allow precise adjustment of secondary spring engagement.
  • Heat treated stainless alloy valve shims do not fracture like plain carbon steel and resist deformation at high temperatures providing consistent fade free performance.
  • Wear bands are made from a Rulon composite that offers incredible wear resistance, low deformation under load and high compressive strength. Overlapping end design enhances sealing.
  • Special long wearing urethane seals have been tested on 18 wheelers for 450,000 miles without a failure.
  • Large 3/4" or 7/8" diameter shafts have a tensile strength of 100,000 pounds per square inch. They are hard chromed to combat rock bruising and micro-polished to a 6 RA finish for extended seal life.
  • Replaceable Teflon lined stainless steel spherical bearings will not rust and provide smooth articulation with no metal to metal contact.
  • High quality fittings are mated to Aeroquip high pressure hoses which resist abrasion and allow a tighter bend radius without kinking like braided stainless or cloth lines do.

OPTIONS:

COMPRESSION ADJUSTERS:
Coilover adjusters are valuable tools for enthusiasts who want to optimize their vehicle's suspension for different driving situations, whether it's off-roading, racing, or daily commuting. Properly tuning your coilovers can help you achieve better performance, control, and comfort.

FINNED RESERVOIRS:
External finned reservoirs dramatically increase fluid capacity, heat dissipation and provide sustained damping performance even under the most punishing conditions. All new threaded end cap design with new Schrader valve protective cap. Made from extruded 6061-T6 aluminum.

INTERNAL BYPASS (IBP):
Internal bypass shocks are a great choice for those wanting the best performance but are held back by class rules or packaging contraints. The King 2.5 IBP design utlizes a full diameter piston and adds a metering needle which reduces flow near the end of the travel.
To make the shock position sensitive, a tapered, metering rod protrudes down from the center of the top cap. As the shaft moves into the shock body during the compression stroke it envelops the fixed tapered pin. The taper gradually closes the opening in the end of the shaft restricting the flow of fluid. When the taper reaches the full pin diameter, it restricts flow through the secondary valving diverting all fluid flow through the primary piston valving. Pin length determines the point in the shocks travel where the bypass flow is metered. The taper angle controls how sudden or gradual the restriction. When the secondary valving is closed and all fluid is flowing through the primary piston, enough damping force exists at the last few inches of compression travel to compress the fluid at the top of the shock body creating a suspension arresting hydraulic bump stop.

When you consider the multitude of valving combinations and the numerous valve chamber port configurations that exist, the tuning options in the secondary valving alone are nearly infinite. The internal bypass shock can be set-up with light valving at ride height to deliver a smooth comfortable ride while still providing substantial damping force at full compression to prevent bottoming out during hard use. The IBP can be manufactured as a smooth bodied shock to work with an existing coil, torsion or leaf spring or as a coilover shock to provide damping and suspend the vehicles weight. The IBP packs a ton of performance in a compact durable package thats perfect for dual-purpose rigs, daily drivers or competition vehicles that are limited by rules to one shock per wheel. Regardless of your application, King Shocks has the solution to your performance damping needs. Nothing rides like a King.
