Description

The Currie 70 Platinum front and rear axle set for the JL Rubicon 392 are designed for the demands of all-wheel-drive and Hemi torque. Up front, the 70 Platinum features RCV axles for smooth operation at highway speeds and drive slugs to maintain full-time four-wheel-drive performance. Out back, the 70 Platinum features 4” axle tubes and full-float 40-spline chromoly axles to handle the massive power of the 392 Hemi. If you seek out the most challenging routes and toughest obstacles to conquer, the 70 Platinum axle set is a natural choice.

The Currie 70 Platinum axle set for the 2021 and newer Jeep JL Rubicon 392, are complete bolt-in axle assemblies with all required brackets and mounts in place. The vehicles factory driveshafts will require modification or replacement to accommodate the larger 70 series housing and 1350 series u-joints

Currie 70 Platinum Axle Features

Currie 70 high-pinion nodular iron center section is competition proven and the strongest casting we offer, with heavy main caps, ARP® main bolts and thicker walls and webbing in critical areas

Load Bolt   Ring gear load bolt (top left) eliminates gear deflection, to dramatically increase torque handling capacity. The load bolt typically sits .002 inch from the ring gear and only touches when extremely high torque loads are applied

RockJock 70 Gear   Currie's competition-grade gears (left) are cut from super-tough 9310 alloy, REM polished, and then custom heat-treated to a precise hardness, creating gears that can stand up to both the high shock loads of extreme off-road use and the wear of high mileage street use. Standard Dana® 60 gear (right)

RockJock 70 35-spline pinion   Massive custom 35-spline pinion shaft (right), provides increased strength and reliability over the standard 29-spline unit (left)

Currie 70 high-pinion radius bottom center section delivers unmatched ground clearance, and improved obstacle slide-over by presenting a smooth curve rather than the sharp edge found on other housings

Replaceable AR400 hardened steel skid plate resists deformation and gouging to slide over obstacles far better than iron housings or mild steel plates

High volume flow-thru recirculating oil system keeps pinion bearings bathed in cool oil, reducing operating temperatures and eliminating oil starvation issues

Large 3.5-inch diameter .375 wall front axle tubes (left) are three times stronger than the stock front, while the rear 4.0-inch diameter .375 wall axle tubes are more than two and a half times stronger han the stock JL AdvanTEK® 44

Gloss black powder coat finish adds long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion to keep your Currie 70 looking its best

Currie 70 Platinum Front Axle

Front axle steering geometry is optimized for large tires and lifted vehicles with increased caster and pinion angles

The included heavy-duty tie rod features a 1.375 in. OD x .375 wall heat-treated chromoly tube and 1-ton forged rod ends that are designed to withstand off-road abuse and large tires

Massive forged 1-ton inner knuckles (right) are designed to stand up to the severe punishment and large tires without flinching

Rock-proof Currie nodular iron front cover (Shown in red) protects expensive internals, adds structural support to the housing's face flange, and locates the driver’s side upper control arm mount

Big brake 14-inch diameter vented front rotors provide increased brake capacity required for stopping large tires. The factory front calipers and lines are retained, eliminating the need to bleed the brake system

Currie 70 Platinum Rear Axle

Full-floating hubs carry the weight of the vehicle, eliminating the influence of side loading and impact shock on axle durability.

Currie Performance 40-spline full-floating axles are machined in-house and then heat treated to exacting standards to provide unmatched strength and durability

Big brake 14-inch diameter vented rear rotors increase stopping power and are a perfect match for the front's. The factory rear calipers and lines are retained, eliminating the need to bleed the brake system

Rock-proof Currie nodular iron cover protects expensive internals and adds structural support to the housing's face flange for increased rigidity

NOTES:

ABS Sensors: Does not include ABS sensors, the factory sensors from the stock axle must be retained and installed on the Currie 70 housing

Factory Calipers: The vehicles factory front and rear brake calipers are retained and installed on the 70 Platinum axles, this eliminates the need to open the brake system and the requirement to bleed the brake system.

Computer Programming: Newer vehicles require a programmer to reset the gear ratio and tire height in the vehicle's computer to ensure proper function of the vehicles stability control and transmission shift points

Wheel and Tire Size: Requires 17-inch or larger wheels for proper brake caliper clearance. Maximum recommended tire size is 40-inches

Overall Width: Axle width is 70-inches. Additional width improves turning angle with 37-inch and larger tires

Steering Stabilizer: The Currie 70 ram assist bracket requires an aftermarket stud style trac bar bolt to accommodate a steering stabilizer. Trac bar bolts are available from FOX Racing P/N 803-02-028 or Synergy Manufacturing P/N 8806-01
