Bak-Pax now come Powder Coated Textured Black - They are sandblasted, pre-treated with 4 stage iron phosphate wash with deionized water rinse. They receive a basecoat of zinc rich primer and then are shot with a top coat of black fine texture.
It really cleans up the rear end of the Jeep nicely and flows great with a fastback top !! Super easy installation and loving the extra mounts for lights and whips !!!
The product is very well built and very easy to install. 3 gallon rotopax don't fit well but the 2 gallon fit perfect.
The Bak Pax from Rebel Offroad is a great (the best?) option for a spare tire delete. It adds a unique look to the rear of the Jeep, provides mounts for an antenna and two lights plus also creates extra space for fuel or water with the addition of two Rotopax. The two reasons that dropped this from a 5 to 4-star product are because I bought the version that comes with a license plate delete kit and unfortunately, there were no instructions on how to re-wire both the license plate kit and the rear tail light. I ended up scouring the internet for how to do this best and thankfully found some answers. It just seems like Rebel could have easily provided this kind of info since I'm sure they know exactly how to re-wire everything. The other reason is that the supplied wingnut that holds the license plate to the Bak Pax rusted IMMEDIATELY. It doesn't make sense to me to use a metal that rusts so fast on a product that will always be outside the Jeep. These are somewhat minor gripes, but I felt like they were important enough to share and address. Keep making things in the USA Rebel!!!
Over all very pleased. Very well engineered, only item was the “Rebel OffRoad” plate on carrier was lose. 2 second fix.
